Preston Lacemakers are a friendly group of people who meet to share their enthusiasm and enjoyment in the art and craft of lace, in all its variations. Our group includes young and old and beginners to experienced. Throughout the year we have talks about and workshops in both lace and other craft techniques. We also promote lace through exhibitions and giving demonstrations.

Next Meeting: 6 June 2015 - Ruskin Lace Workshop with Karen Quickfall

At our next meeting on 6 June 2015, Karen Quickfall will be giving a workshop on Ruskin Lace.  Further details can be found on our 'Workshop's page or by clicking here.  The workshop starts at 10:30.  If you're interested in joining us, come along, because not all members will be participating in the workshop and will be making their own projects in lace and having a chat.

Next Meeting: 2 May 2015 Members' Display - Nature, Flora and Fauna

Our next meeting takes place on Saturday 2 May and members are asked to bring samples of their work which represent Nature, Flora and Fauna to put into the display for the meeting.  A note of your name and something about the work, to put on the display with your item, would be lovely.

Next Meeting: 4 April 2015 Open Meeting

Thanks to all of you who attended the AGM and particularly to those who volunteered for posts. Once again the finger buffet was excellent, thanks to all members for their delicious contributions.  Carol is currently arranging to get the membership card printed so we should have those available for paid up members at the next meeting.

The next meeting takes place on 4 April 2015 and is an open meeting, so bring you lace along and have a chat, get help  and advice and be inspired by the work of others.  Anyone interested is welcome to come along and see what we do.

Next Meeting 7 March 2015: AGM and Jacob's Join Finger Buffet

Our next meeting is the AGM, to be held on Saturday 7 March.  If you have not received your AGM agenda and minutes of the last meeting, email prestonlacemakers@yahoo.com or telephone one of the committee members, as the secretary might not be available between now and the AGM.  Remember to bring some food for the Jacob's Join Finger Buffet.

The AGM is an important meeting for the group so we look forward to seeing everyone.  Visitors are welcome, as always, but will not be able to vote at the AGM.

Next Meeting 7 February 2015 Open Meeting

We had planned to have a viewing of the Contrasts DVD at our meeting on 7 February.  Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, this is no longer possible.  We shall, therefore, have an open meeting.  Bring your lace along and make lace, have a chat and see what everyone else is doing.

Next Meeting: 3 January 2015

Thank you to all for an enjoyable Christmas Party.  Once again the food was delicious and we had great fun playing the games.

Our next meeting is an open meeting on Saturday 3 January, very soon after the New Year.  The secretary will be taking motions for the AGM and nominations for the committee and other posts within Preston Lacemakers.  This will be your last chance to put any motions to the AGM but the open meeting afterwards will consider any other business on the day.

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and that you have a happy, peaceful and healthy New Year.

Christmas Party 6 December 2014

Our next meeting is the Christmas Party.  Remember to bring some food for the Jacob's Join, your own crockery, cutlery, glass, cup and, if you want to be sure of a cold drink, something to drink.  Tea and coffee will be available as usual.  Remember to bring a gift to the value of £5.00.

Thanks to Dianne Derbyshire for teaching us how to make Chinese Lanterns at the last meeting.  All those taking part thoroughly enjoyed the session, some making more than one lantern.
