Preston Lacemakers are a friendly group of people who meet to share their enthusiasm and enjoyment in the art and craft of lace, in all its variations. Our group includes young and old and beginners to experienced. Throughout the year we have talks about and workshops in both lace and other craft techniques. We also promote lace through exhibitions and giving demonstrations.

Next Meeting Saturday 3 May 2014

Thanks to all those members who displayed their favourite pieces at our last meeting.  What a lovely range of lacemaking styles and innovative uses of lace!

Members are encouraged to contribute to our next members' display at the meeting on 3 May.  The theme for this display is my first/early piece and my current/recent piece of lace.  We shall also be holding the 10% stall, so if you have anything you want to buy, or anything to sell, remember to have a look or bring your items.  Ann also announced at the April meeting that Jacqui Southworth will be attending the May meeting, so if you are considering purchasing any lace supplies, you could contact Jacqui before the meeting and see if she can bring them along.

If anyone is interested in making lace, please come along as a visitor.  We have a teacher who is happy to help any beginners.

Leyland Lacemakers: Kitty Mason Course - 6 & 7 August 2014

A local lacemaking group, Leyland Lacemakers, have arranged a course with Kitty Mason to be held on 6 and 7 August at the Baptist Church in Leyland.  Kitty specialises in continental laces, but is happy to teach any lace and beginners are welcome.  Tea and coffee will be provided but you will need to bring your own food.  The cost will be about £35 depending upon the number attending the course.
