Thanks to members who contributed to the lovely displays of all things tatting and of recently completed projects at our last meeting. Thanks also to the young lacemaker who allowed his work in progress, his own design, to be exhibited. Members' displays demonstrate the range of skills and talents we have in the group and provide inspiration to us all.
A tatting workshop with Sue Duckles will be held at our next meeting on 2 July 2016, starting at 10:30. Sue will provide beginner kits at a cost of £5 each. These include an instructional DVD and booklet, shuttle and thread. If you already have equipment, at least a shuttle and suitable thick thread, you can bring that. For those with some experience, Sue will bring some more advanced instructional booklets/DVDs for you to purchase if you wish.
Members who are not attending the workshop will be making lace, so if you are interested in joining the group, come along, have a chat and, if you would like, have a go at making bobbin lace.
If any members are interested in the trip to Abakhan Mostyn on 7 September, please ensure that you add your name to the list, or let a member of the committee know, before or at the next meeting.
Happy lacemaking!
Preston Lacemakers are a friendly group of people who meet to share their enthusiasm and enjoyment in the art and craft of lace, in all its variations. Our group includes young and old and beginners to experienced. Throughout the year we have talks about and workshops in both lace and other craft techniques. We also promote lace through exhibitions and giving demonstrations.
